The Guitar Teaching Diploma (DipLCM) course can be studied entirely online. It offers practical tips and easy to understand information.
The focus of the course is to help you towards developing your knowledge and skills as a guitar teacher. You can study at your own pace with support and feedback when you need it.
This course has eleven modules for you to work through. These will help you towards understanding a guitar syllabus, planning a series of lessons and developing the detail of individual lessons.
Topics include:
Assessing the ability of a student
Which subjects to teach
What order to put topics in
Developing teaching / learning resources
Schemes of work
Lesson plans
The teaching environment / equipment
Evaluating your teaching
etc.
Each module requires about five hours of study and for you to complete various assignments. You will be supported with live tutorials via Skype or phone and will receive feedback on your progress. You can work at your own pace and complete tasks when you wish. The average time for completion of this course is three months. However, you have up to one year from the date you enrol to complete all modules.
The diploma is a Level 4 qualification. This is equivalent to the first year of a three year bachelor’s degree (undergraduate) qualification.
The Diploma is an internationally recognised qualification.
There are examination centres internationally at which you can sit the Diploma examination.
This course is designed to prepare you for the Diploma examination. Once you have completed this course you will need to pay and enter for the examination via the London College of Music.
